Protecting the Earth’s limited water resources

In an effort to contribute to the resolution of worldwide shortages of water for drinking, medical, and other purposes, YKK Corporation has developed ECO-DYE® technology for waterless dyeing of zippers. This proces makes it possible to manufacture products with the same high quality, while significantly reducing the environmental load. In 2016 YKK received the Good Design Award from the Japan Institute of Design Promotion in recognition of its concept that contributes to a sustainable society by protecting the Earth’s limited water resources and reducing the burden on the environment.
