ITS 2014 ACCESSORIES FINALISTS ANNOUNCED 29 May 2014

YKK is delighted to announce the ITS 2014 Accessories Finalists:

Takafumi Arai from Japan

Ivana Damjanovic from Serbia

Ian Waller from UK

Daniel Ramos Obregón from Colombia

Mirja Pitkaart from Estonia

Carolin Holzhuber from Austria

Rui Bao from China

and Olivia Hanson from UK.

The Finalists were chosen during pre-selection on the 24th April by Accessories jury from the group of
leading fashion and media influential professionals: Kei Kagami - Fashion Designer and Consultant for YKK, Barbara Franchin – EVE Director & Project Supervisor, Sara Maino - Senior Editor Vogue Italia / Vogue Talents, Isabella Zegrini - Christian Dior Haute Couture Accessories, Valentina Maggi - Director of the Design Practice at Floriane de St. Pierre and YKK TEAM representatives Sabine Bourgeau and Isabella Taddeo.

Hundreds of portfolios were submitted for consideration in 4 categories, including Accessories; Fashion; Artwork and Jewelry. 

The best accessories designer who finds a brand new way of using YKK’s fastening products will receive the YKK Award. This is one of the most important competitions for young designers and will take place in Trieste, Italy on 11-12 July 2014. The competition is open to new talents from all over the world.

The finalists’ projects will be presented to the ITS guests, jury members, the international press, opinion leaders, heads of design studios and head-hunters.

Each application for the accessories competition must also include so as being eligible for the YKK Award, a design made by the applicant who makes use of a fastening product supplied by any member of the YKK Group of Companies. YKK encourages the use of its Excella®, Excella® Blade, Excella® Curve, Vislon® Flat and FlexFix®, Plancer®, sewing buttons from Snaps & Buttons range products. YKK may use of the winning item in promotional advertising. All prizes will be delivered directly by YKK EUROPE LIMITED.

The main prize, the YKK Award, is a cash prize of 10,000 Euros. The winner will be also featured in the September issue of Dazed & Confused magazine and will join the judging panel in next year’s competition, ITS 2015.

We would like to congratulate all the Finalists and wish them good luck in the final stage of the competition during Gala in Trieste, Italy on 12th July.
